  1. Youve also got Southern ROC, and AWDC. SROC do alot of trialling, both RTV and CCV, but dont seem to do much challenge suff.
  2. Thanks for the pointers Giles, off to look at TVR power
  3. Giles, where do I find the TVR prices from? We have a few names to try, I know John Eales does supercharged, but there a few more that have been given to us by Brian Johnson (top fuel bikes).
  4. Cheers for all your thoughts. There isnt a single ALRC, AWDC, etc class that is suitable for this vehicle and there never will be. Those who cant understand the QT (and other makers) 80" etc need to read the rule book, even I can uinderstand it!! I agree the ALRC rules are strange, you cant fit a 2.5 petrol into a 2.25 petrol and stay in standard class (in my 02 book) but you can fit a 4.6 into a 3.5 factory 90!!!! The build has set criteria, this was set by us. It should use Rover parts where possible, suspension should follow standard lines for that vehicle (no coils on a leafer), braking be changed for later/better parts, steering can be altered if required. It should be a sleeper
  5. Yep, its got to be Rover, but if it becomes too much like hard work, we'll ditch the supercharger and go for carbs and gas
  6. I know that using Yank V8s gives you big power for small bucks, but thats not the point. Its about ethics, we are trying to stick to ALRC style regs. Im stunned by the number of anti Rover people on here, alot of drag racers and rod/custom guys use the Rover unit with a supercharger too
  7. Does anyone know of any V8 builders that do supercharged lumps? This needs to be a Rover lump, around the 4.6 size, which will be for street and strip (RWYB) Does JE Devolpments do supercharged? or are they carb/injection only?
  8. What time do they open the gates? The AWDC website has no info Ill be there in the my 2a, the wife will be there in my Commercial with the dogs On my map Broxhead common is on the left from Farnham.
  9. Horay, the wifes got the day off So Ill be at Broxhead in the big yellow one, and the wife will be there in the the Discovery commercial. Looking forward to a good day out.
  10. Cheers guys, Toyota parts can NOT be used, only Rover parts allowed. The cutting and welding are the reasons why I was going to get AHL to do it. Jon, Im aiming to be at Broxhead, but the wifes now saying shes working so wont be able to look after the dogs As soon as she sorts her holiday out Ill let you know
  11. Ive been thinking about having this sorted out, it would make the whole trialling thing so much easier But, Im not a fan of the CPC kit, too much stuff hanging down screaming "RIP ME OFF" so what about using RR parts? I know AHL have done a conversion, but Ive not had a chance to look at it yet. How much would you pay to have someone else do the conversion for you?
  12. Thought about that, but I cant see the wife being too happy about it. So it will probably be a spot of laning in the Discovery on the 26th and Broxhead in the big yellow one on 27th
  13. Yes thanks I was using the awdc.co.uk addy, but that wouldnt work. It is now though!!! Which do I go to? AWDC or 4x4withoutaclub on the 27th?
  14. Is this site still working? I tried to get on it, but its asking for a login which is very new I was trying to find the date for their Christmas drive round.
  15. It will only happen if the people of this country allow it. They cant jail the whole population for refusing to fit it, nor can they force you to fit it (and even if they did, mine would keep getting drowned/smashed/lost) This will cost industry and the working population thousands and will NOT effect the congestion of the road network.
  16. Thanks, Yep its Southern Rovers OC. Went down to watch this weekend, very slippy but nothing looked too scary. Looking forward to the end of the shooting season so I can start competing
  17. I know Tornado, didnt really think of them due to the distance, it was a long drive home when I bought his commercial!!! In the process of joining SROC, they must have someone that most club members use as most of their stuff is CCV and Comp.
  18. Many thanks to all who have replied. Neither vehicle is movable without a trailer, which makes thins a bit more tricky. Pity about the quality of the QT cages, their prices arent too bad.
  19. Cheers Jon. Do you think your QT was a one off? Or do all QT cages have bad bends? What didnt you like about the bends?
  20. Are there any? I know of QT, Performance and Protection and Tomcat but are there any cage builders in the Southeast? I need a pair of ALRC cages to comp spec, on for an 86" s1, the other for an 88" s2a. Both will be using truck cabs. Any ideas?
  21. Last night I went to Shepherds Bush Empire with a mate, he lives in Walton, I live in Chertsey. To get there by public transport is a nightmare, many bus rides, a train, then two different tube lines (this assumes nothing is cancelled or delayed meaning you miss the connection) The whole journey would have taken over 2 hours each way and cost £20+ each. So we drove, in my GTi, it took less than an hour to get there, we parked 200yds from the gig and then got home in less than 40 minutes. This is the reason people drive into town, Red Ken's public transport is pants. As for the charging, how does it effect Tax Exempt (historic) vehicles?

    SD1 V8

Its carb. To my knowledge the SD1 didnt come with EFi, but I could be wrong!!!

    SD1 V8

There are two electric sensors on the top of the water pump housing (where the radiator top hose fits) Any idea what these are for? Are they a cold start sensor or for a fan?
  24. mine has a s3 diesel rad, which appears to help. Ive also got the electric fan and bonnet cutouts like D90. Still doing shakedown runs at the moment, but it worked ok with a standard petrol rad (3core) so the diesel rad (4core) should help nicely. Dont go down the 90 front end route, they look pants
  25. Yep, Rocky Mountain. They appear fairly hard to find though. Dont know why as theyre a cracking product.
