That is the question!
Im just curious what the thoughts of the RV8 owners on here are regarding engine oil cooling before i go ahead and buy my radiator? Is it essential even in this cold climate?
Has anyone used a TD5 radiator for a V8 powered vehicle?
Just wondering if its a viable idea as it would save me having to weld brackets onto my galvanised TD5 chassis in order to fit a V8 rad.
Im pretty sure the rad itself would have more than enough cooling capacity, its just im not sure about hose sizes/routing?
Bought part number DLW000020 for my defender from LR Series. Ordered an OEM part. Imagine my dismay when the little blue box fell out of the jiffy bag! Since when was britpart an OEM supplier? Should I even use this? It would be a major pita if it were to fail prematurely.
Having just done this recently myself i can say that it was mainly playing around with door hinge adjustment until a reasonable gap was achieved all the way round the doors.
Very much easier to do if you have a helper on hand. Playing with the strikers will do nothing.
Thats a good point mikey. I was just a little concerned that if i used a td5 harness, things wouldnt work properly if the ecu plugs werent connected to an ecu. Given that i have a v8 these connectors would be completely redundant.
Thanks for the advice Dave. It begs the question which would be the best to use for my application or does it even matter? Im guessing there would be more redundant plugs on the td5 loom?
Ok so just seen from parts book that the 300tdi has an ecu as well so what do i do with the ecu connector on the harness (seeing as i wont have an ecu), just leave it disconnected?
Pardon my ignorance this is my first landrover!
When it comes to me fitting the bulkhead wiring harness, will it matter if a fit a 300tdi or td5 item? Reason i ask is that i understand the td5 has a few ecu units that i wont be having on my v8. The chassis harness that i have installed has the later type connectors fitted so i assume its either 300tdi or td5?
Does anyone know how these fillers (BDG710010 etc) are fixed to the door. Looking at numcat it doesn't show them fixed by any screws etc. The lack of holes in the door frame support this. Are they just stuck in place?
But surely when its all built up and working I won't be able to get at the cable to cut it? Do you mean temporarily fitting wiper controls before fitting rest of dash etc? Sorry for my ignorance.
Started fitting new wiper wheelboxes to my bulkhead. After fitting them I noticed a problem. There is a bracket on the bulkhead that will get in the way of the cable and tube. I was told that the new bulkhead was a TD5 one so what's going on here?
While watching a 4x4 is born I noticed mark evans using a tool that looks very useful for inserting the window rubber filler strip. What are these called?
