  1. Does anyone have any cool ideas for lighting the interior of a defender? Pics would be a bonus. Ive been thinking about LED lighting. Im just mulling through ideas just now before i get to the stage of running cabling on my 110 build.
  2. Wouldnt be the first time my friend. Il take my chances. They would be given the choice - cuff themselves until the cops get there or there gettin a barrel of buckshot..
  3. click click BANG BANG!! Im with you on that one.. Glad they never got away with it mate Phil
  4. What a p!sser. Nice lookin truck too. If you find the scum responsible, i have a nice 12-bore here i will lend you. I recommend starting from the feet and working slowly upwards.... Phil
  5. Wow! Had a feeling something would show itself in there. That being said, it looks as though it would polish out...... Glad you found it dude. Phil
  6. Hi Andrew

Thought id pm you as you get so much 'he says - she says' sometimes on the forum. Re your engine prob, if your cam is quite new i would keep it. However id fit some new genuine LR lifters. This is important as there are a lot of cheap (read carp) copies out there. You should get that other head off ASAP mind you and eliminate anything else. Hope that helps. Phil

  7. Throw the rhoads in the bin. Rattly pieces of shi8. Just do it! Fit new genuine LR lifters in there. But before you do that - stop pratting about and get that other head off Phil
  8. Just in the interest of clarity - i was joking! You really do need to renew the gaskets even if they are relatively new.
  9. Nah just torque em down tighter the second time.....
  10. Discovery? Pah! Grow some hair on yer chest man!
  11. See. Your all turning to the superior class of defender..
  12. Wow. Was the POR-15 thinned down? Ive never heard anything but good reports on it, but there you go... To be honest i couldnt give a monkeys what folk use on their vehicle. I know that when i find something that works, i stick with it.
  13. Your exactly right. Most folk are ignorant to these things..
  14. How do you know what i called it. 4 stars could have been 'good'..... Hammerite aint that good either. At least i dont think it is. Ive found POR-15 a much better option to hammerite. It is dearer mind you..
  15. Waxoyl is complete **** Im sorry, but it just is. Try the 3M Schutz i have pictured below. Its superior in every way. It dries completely so dirt / dust / sand doesnt stick to it - shame the same cant be said for waxoyl.
  16. 200 psi on #2? Sounds like that M6 is holding the exhaust valve very tightly shut!! It doesnt sound quite as bad as a 200TDi but its gettin close... Hope you find it soon
  17. Bringing up an old thread but ive noticed that Blaupunkt have discontinued making their two DAB car radios. Now seeing as DAB is supposed to be a new technology, why are they now discontinued? Are they really THAT rubbish?
  18. I personally wouldnt be giving a rats ass about the chassis numbers. But thats just me... Of more concern is what fridge says. Think there is an additional crossmember if i remember correct. Phil
  19. You probably know already, but just in case you dont... Stainless steel reacts with ally even worse than mild steel. That is why i have been careful of wrapping any stainless bolts with ptfe tape where the bolt goes through the ally because wherever stainless is in contact with ally, the galvanic corrosion will be horrendous...
  20. That bracket is just for the 90 isnt it?
  21. You can cut out galvanic corrosion by various methods. During my build ive been using neoprene gaskets or washers anywhere steel meets ally. Ive also been using ptfe tape round the threads of bolts that got through the ally bodywork. Anything to stop the small current flowing between the two materials should work. I removed all the steel brackets rivetted on the inside of the ally rear panels, removed any corrosion, applied 3 thick coats of paint between the 2 surfaces, then re-rivetted tham back on.
