  1. les, there are 3 different gears listed, assuming you have the correct one in the past i have found if you a gap between the transfer box and back of transmission you can get the gear to mesh correctly and then tighten the transfer box up,hth, chris.

  2. I wouldn't bother, I tried them on my oil cooler and they wept quite well, got them swaged on after a while, but then I just used them to get the truck running :)

Setting, for me, was putting the pincers in the vice, was the only way I got enough force to crimp them down properly.

Yes they are easily removed, cut vertically through the ear and they fall off.

They are pretty intolerant of pipe size, I don't remember too well, but the range was something like 16-19mm, i.e. small compared to hose clips.

Personally I would invest in some stainless hose clips and not have to do it again :)

obviously not fitting them correctly bowie, not really designed for oil cooler hoses, suggest you do a google search if you want a tutorial.

  3. the 6bt is a stonking engine,as mentioned you will need a good transmission, you may get away with a santana box out of a v8 110,but if you are canny, many of them fitted to trucks had an auto box behind them.

  4. my i send you best wishes for the future,i have a pair of 88" side panels you are welcome to,along with some 90 seats and a set of steel rims with 7.50/16 tyres,we had a fire on the farm where i work last back end, barn was full of hay and straw, the flames licked my workshop which is brick built, luckily the fire bregade stopped it going up,i count myself very lucky.
