I have just mounted the Truwsteer steering box on the road, the steering is light and precise but when stationary it is heavy, I have 33 11.50 tires which weigh 50 kg complete with rims. I haven't tried it off-road. As soon as I try I'll update the post.
Useful feed back!
Out of interest, what wheels and tyres? My 37"x12.5" Maxxis on wolf wheels are only 57kg a corner!

I'd rather gently pull with a kinetic than with a fixed strap, greatly reduces the shock load. Kinetic doesn't mean foot-to-the-floor-launch.
Echo that. That said I do like the feel of a fixed strap for some things.

As they’re round tube rather than the pressed parts of a standard case I’d try for large vee blocks under each side.
Trying to remember how I machined my cases flat for the D44 diff pans, I want to say I sat it on the diff mounting face, and clamped it from the inside. Need to dig through my pictures.

Totally just watched that and went to blow the chips off

Not sure if any of you have seen this yet, popped up on facebook....
Ashcroft are now building brand new LT230 boxes from scratch:
https://ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/product/lt230-new/
They start from ~£1600, vs £600ish for a rebuilt.

Found it for £25 on Amazon so have gone with that. Still seems like an extortionate amount of money for a plastic bottle. I can get a glass one full of nice grape juice for less!
Is the grape juice any good for degreasing?

Without grabbing a picture... I think mine is this one:
https://pureadhesion.co.uk/marolex-ergo-industry-2000-master-hand-pressure-sprayers-2-litre-5pscm/
Works great still 7/8 years on..... only thing if it's not used for a while, there's a slight yellow tinge to the brake cleaner.

If there is clunking, as above, it mean's there's an issue. Be that mechanical, or even driver if there's a little play and the driver isn't used to something with lots of mechanical bits.
-
I can't see an issue with damaging the battery.... but I wouldn't leave it on the tool unattended.

£18 is hilarious

Thanks for the figures Snagger. I know some don’t like to talk about money, but I’ve always been curious to know the ball park figures for something like this.

Gearing wise (with the caveat my truck hasn’t yet been on the road)… I’ve worked out mine on 37” treps, 4.7 diffs and 1.2 transfer box makes for high-ration being a bit over standard and low-ratio a bit under.

Unknown, but no parts for Rd03 available which is the early 10 spline ARB.
Can't remember if that's the particular model, but Nige has had several replacement ARB bits manufactured.

As @Hybrid_From_Hell Isn't the type to blow his own trumpet I'll say it - He's the man to look at the diffs and advise either way.

As above, my suspicions would lie with the master cylinder. Any fluid on the pedal?

As Ross says, thoroughly deserved - there was a time in the early days when there were a lot of really novel builds going on with a lot of knowledgeable folks throwing in great technical observations and tips, but a lot of those folks moved on or the builds finished, this has been a very welcome return to those days of really great technical stuff that sets this place apart.
If nothing else it's a reminder to the rest of us that it's all just metal and you can do a hell of a lot with it in a suburban garage with a bit of determination.
It really is a throwback to ones like the HOFS builds of yesteryear!

A fan is rarely needed, but it is folly to run without one at all except, perhaps, in Arctic conditions. A long hill climb on a hot day, especially with any significant load, or a drive through mud or sand could cook an engine fairly swiftly if there is no fan to help. Even sitting in very slow traffic on a hot day can raise temperatures well above where they should be without a fan.
Even then, my 200 only got hot when the rad was completely full of Welsh mud and even then, only when on the motorway.

That is always the case - early treatment is always smaller, less risky and has better outcomes than leaving it late, plus it minimises the duration of the issues of the injury.
My Nanna is a prime example of what not to do…. Leave joint issues and put it off so long it caused other problems and now she can barely walk.

But making a conclusion based on something you’ve not looked at properly and already dismissed? As above, they’re far better built (particularly underneath) than any modern pickup I’ve looked at!

Not sure I can work out what the Safe-Xtract is supposed to do @Nonimouse? Some way of using your winch with less on the drum?
