  1. i ran disco rears on the front of my 110 for the extra ht with h/d 110/130 rears on the back - an excellent setup.

as for a 90, slightly different matter, mine came with a procomp setup which has raised it about 2" and i will stick with them for now as the articulation is good with good onroad manners. the main advantage being they are quite long springs for good travel but dont bunch (egcoild dnt touch in std situ)

anywya the point of the reply is that i think i have a set of disco rears in the garage - what colour should they be? ( H reg 200tdi age)???

If i have, steven you can have them i currently dont need them.

  2. Hopefully someone will know

what the internal diameter of the top coolant hose on a 200tdi????

i want to fit on of those DT thermostate things but need the info to order it.

i think it must be one of:

    25,28,32,35,38,45mm

if all else fails i will take the hose off and measure it but if that can avoided........

    many thanks in advance.

  3. cheers for the feedback guys and thanks for the offer Tony, yes please if yu coudl pm the number that would be great.

I was just after a forum concensus on what was the way forward regarding chip pnly upgrades. i have some opinions but was keen to learn what others thought.

any more thoughts, any got a dastek unit or JJ Fern or Allisport mod?

  4. Some pics of Si Whites' and my truck at the weekend. nothing too exciting but then photos nver do any real justice:

a different approach to getting on of the punches as we were already up there!:

  5. Will and everyone else involved in setting up and running the day THANK YOU very much for a good day out.

Richard (Darth) cheers for the monkeying - i hope you enjoyed it and the day was worht the trip form Bristol. i will keep you posted about the 30th Oct.

Si - cheers for partnering up - a good day out had by both i feel.

the TC performed well getting there and back with no problems apart from its normal drinking habit!

A well laid out sight - something for everyone with some skill required to drive some sections to avoid winch use which is good to see, rather than just winching everything.

i have some (ltd number) pics uploading and will post as soon as i can.

    many thanks to all

  6. Well i have only done 363 miles since fitting the pipe but i must add that so far i am impressed (apart from the extra noise i could do without). So its had its first fill and i was pleasently suprised to see the mpg had increased, especialy as my old man drove it for 100miles or so and get his foot to the floor most of the time just for the noise!

its is getting a little quieter it seems, mileage will tell i suppose.

main advantages are it picks up alot quikcer than previous, i can hold a gear higher on twisty devon roads and mpg has improved.

    my mpg findings are:

Std vehicle: 30.9mpg average over 6k miles

Once chipped (JE Eng Ph 1): 29.6mpg over 9.8K miles

with straight through pipe fitted: 32.4mpg over 363 miles !!!!!

i know to quantify it i need to do some more miles as it could be a one off. its done 34mpg as twice since chipped as well! in fact since it hit 68k, 3k miles ago it hasnt dropped below 30mpg.

  7. i was just after some direct comparisons to look through of the different ones currently on the market. (although i think the test was some on disco some on road defenders and some on def setup for offroad either tyre or snorkel etc wise)

i am primarily interested in info either plug in, download or ecu exchange. i dont want to touch the intercooler at this moment.

    any one any thoughts?

  8. Over the past couple of years various mags have done articles on chipping defender/disco etc.

i am interested in the td5 only ones at the moment.

and can i find any of them.... not a hope - typical

so can anyone remember which mags had the articles.

i seem to remember LRO doing a JE phase 2 on their 90, and there was also a group test with 1/4mile timings etc in one of the other mags (LRW or LRM i think) that IRRC had a white 90 on the front flanked by two other def on a track. this latter test had JE, twisted Perf, Allisport, Dasteck etc etc

can anyone lay their hands on the articles and let me know where they are please.

  10. Chris,

If Si is going to come down i will team up with him, although if he cant make it and you fancy teaming then no probs, we can sort it out on the day. PM also sent. - note i dont want to get the blame for wrecking/trashing/hurting your rover by pressurising you into things, ditto you to me.

Si - let me know if you can make it, you can leave a msg on the mobile or pm or email me trem417@aol.com

Still after a codriver - come on i didnt hurt the last one.

  11. i dont hit things normally its just trees and earth seem to be attracted to the rover then they hit me. at least my light lenses aren't £30 a set!!! as per the other thread.

i was thinking of something to protect the sides and stop the frail ali skin flapping around and getting caught. i dont really want to reduce the amount i coudl reverse into a bank (or earth) by something sticking out too far so looking for a nice compact design.

i think for £85 i will conside making something bespoke, as for £50 on top of that - forget it

i cant even see them from my seat so i ain'yt paying that much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Does anyone know where you can get rear quarter protectors that are incorporated into the rear bumperette style protectors - that dont cost a fortune!

i am after some HD ones that wrap around the side of the vehcile after coming off the rear crossmember - similar to the d4x4 ones that they build into their rear crossmembers.

i may resort to making some as the prices seem to be ridiculus!
