  1. Thats not a land rover engine its far too clean? Whats the secret then? Not going off road? Or some kind of magic cleaner, i've jet washed mine before and it didnt really clean up very well, so i don't bother anymore.
  2. Im not sure how well they seal but i can vouch for seeing them getting caught up on trees, however they do flex surprisingly well , however the studs holding the pipe to the windscreen were pulled through the plastic, but it needs a weekness somewhere or it might damage the windscreen pillar and not many people wade that deep anyway. The one on steves hybrid which tim now owns has just a few battle scars, not sure if it still seals, but its a V8 so will die before it gets to deep into the water anyway. Jonathan
  3. I am thinking of coming up for the Saturday, and then let darth dicky have the 90 on the sunday, hopefully it shouldn't be a big mistake like it was at tony's birthday bash and he will return it in one piece. I think dicky is coming up to take photos on the saturday or winch bitch for someone and then drive on the Sunday, and so he will probably stay where everyone else is. I am probably going to be staying in Cardiff, and drive up for the saturday. I should know for definate whether i am coming within the next coupke of weeks. Jonathan
  4. Did buy a steering guard with the idea of doing this but the guard we brought had a sharp point that stuck down because its L shaped. However i may look into some make of steering guard, or get one custom made as it will be better in the long run or easier than roatating the pto. Cheers for the ideas. Jonathan
  5. Cheers les i was going to ask you if you could post some pictures. I realise it is a lot of work and so will not be completed for a while. Richard is getting a new PTO soon, so i will hopefully get it done bit by bit depending on the time i have to do it. Rotating the PTO seems straight forward and the lever cant be to bad as a friend can weld it. The main thing is the shafts. So i will have to see how it goes or speak to Nige nicely? Our winch has more shafts than a H14 does so it maybe easier or morecomplicated due to more mountings. The other problem i have is the downpipe. But i will have to see how it goes. Maybe getting a guard made up for underneath is the easiest solution after all Cheers Jonathan
  6. Well the person to ask is Luvvers, as he has them on test on his rangie IIRC from the TOR article and highly rates them. But not totally sure if they are the britpart ones. Although he did say they took a bit of setting in to get them to articulate. I think they come in a choice of soft medium or hard. Im sure he will be along soon to tell you or someone else will. HTH Jonathan
  7. Yes tony that would be why, james that would be useful if you dont need it, how much do you want for it? or if anyone knows of a supplier, as i need the truck everyday so any modifications need to be done all at once or temporary measures installed. I need to think of the best ideas for the exhaust, because it is a bit loud at the moment. Does a cherry bomb exhaust makes much differentce as the rear silencer is not doing much at the moment. So will it make much difference, as all i have is a rear silencer which doesnt do much. Any ideas welcome as will probably get a custom system made up, but want it to be right first time. Thanks Jonathan
  8. What do you need pictures off engine in land rover, out of land rover etc. Im sure darth dicky will be along soon to post some photos as i dont post photos on the forum, but he will host some. Jonathan
  9. Cheers guys i will have a measure up and get dimensions of the tanks. I remember seeing your tank dave and thought it was bigger than that, but i suppose it is longer but has a smaller diameter. I have been told about a 54 litre thank that should fit quite nicely but i am not sure if this is the full capacity or the size of the tank. Also i do not want too small a tank as i will always be filling it up. Cheers Jonathan
  10. I have a winch bumper on my 90 which i think is 6mm, but it looks like a standard 90 bumper as far as the ends are concenred, so far it has not bent. I can not afford or be bother to raise the bumper or chop it around and find it far easier to just use a pair of Waffles instead to decrease angle that i am climbing. This is a lot cheaper and are useful for a load of other things too. Jonathan
  11. At the moment my 2.5 petrol 90 has a standard exhaust expect for the middle scilencer is removed, this gives a nice lot os noise B) and at the moment clears the PTO on the back of the transfer box. However i now have plans to rotate the PTO as the first PTO was smashed off by my brother . So as a temporary measure while i am in the process of rotating the PTO and sorting out where the shaft run, is it possible to use the flexi exhaust pipe stuff like used on 300Tdi disco's i think. Just until i get a custom exhaust made up, or longer depend on when funds will allow. Any ideas welcome. Cheers Jonathan Formerly Norfolk_enchants
  12. I have a 2.5 Petrol Defender 90. I'm going to convert to Lpg, and would like to install the inside as do not want to smash or knock it off if it was underneath, like the PTO Richard smashed off. So if you have pictures of where yours is installed and what size tank you are using that would be most useful. Also what sort of Mpg from Lpg do you get and what range does you tank give. I would like to keep maximum space in the rear tub due to the 4 dicky seats in the back. Cheers Jonathan Formerly Norfolf_enchants
