  1. How and greasy fresh from my exhaust changing escapade.............. How do I remove the existing and fit a new steering wheel? If the sun is out tomorrow, I just might have a go! I have the new wheel already and the correct boss kit..... 1989 110 of course..........
  2. Hey Nic, In terms of refitting the seats, it looks like a fairly straightforward unbolt and re-bolt job. New seats will be in black outlast from exmoor I think. may go for the whole hog and get the heated ones for the front. (do they come already internally fitted with the heating kit?) What I might do while the seats are out is a bit of a wire-brush and repaint job inside..........hmm....thinking........
  3. (Takes head out of sand......) Erm, Billing? Am I missing some even I should have calender'd?? Got a web link?
  4. Hey there is a little other good news. I paid the insurcance excess to get the truck out of the repairers a couple of weeks ago (£550!) and finally got round to faxing the receipt to my solicitor, who is pursuing an uninsured loss and personal injury claim. He emailed me back immediately to tell me that he had despatched a note to the guilty party's insurer asking for an interim payment of £550.00 in repect of the excess payment, and a further £1230.00 for the 92 days the truck was off the road. Nou doubt direct line will haggle this a little, but it looks lie the exmoor trim boys might be getting a call.........
  5. Hey Ralph, thanks for the PMs on the subject of dashboards. Most likeley option now is to 1. Replace the lower half dash (which has a hole ham-fistedly hewn out of it for a radio!), with a decent second hand one 2. Mount a radio unit on the lower half of the dash, fwd of the gearstick for my new radio 3. Fit 3 52mm gauges in the "black oval" on the lower half of the dash (oil pressure, tachometer and mixture analyser - more for light than any real use I may add)) 4. Fit a bank of 6 carling switches on the main dash or on a mudpod (all just blanked off for the moment) 5. replace existing cigarette lighter (for it is duff), and add 3 additional 12v sockets in the loadspace area Contemplating adding a CB setup too, but no real experience here........ Also contemplating a second battery with isolator to run fridge etc.........
  6. Anyone know? before i buy a magnetic aerial? - and it's 1989 vintage, not 1998!!
  7. See what you think........ http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A1109648
  8. Does anyone know any good landrover customisers in my area where I could just give them the truck and let them get on with it - complete dashboard overhaul, 2nd battery, isolator, additional wiring etc.??? For a fee of course.
  9. The pull handle of my bonnet release is snapped in half, making it quite awkward to pull the bonnet release. If I get a new cable, can I do some jiggery pokery and just replace the handle, or do I need to replace the whole thing?
  10. So.........I replaced them this late afternoon, early evening. No real problem with the wiring or the drilling of the holes (the replacements dont match the exisitng holes), but to fit the devils I had to remove the metal plate that hides all the wires, and to remove the plate I had to remove the back seats!!! Since I'm replacing these anyway, that wasn't a total pain. What a faff! Still, the new lights are very bright, and quicker to light than the old bulbs, they look great. As an aside, I'm building up a pile of things that I need to get shut of.......if anyone has a use for two 3-man bench seats in decent nick, or a front centre seat in reasonable condition then pm me. I've also got a shire blue grill and headlamp finishers. You'll have to collect but a very very nominal fee is all thats required (only for the seats, the grill and trims will cost you nowt).
  11. To be fair, one of the first things I replaced on my Moggie was the indicator stalk/unit - it wouldn't cancel at all!!
  12. You have to really steer right round past 90 degrees before they do........is there any adjustment that can be made?
  13. Mileage is 124500 A very little service history, although I had it serviced when I bought it at my local man Motorways and A-roads, the nearest it's been to off-road is bumping on a kerb (I must build up the courage to drive on the wet grass!!!)
  14. Chaps, My 110 is LPG converted, but the V5 still says petrol. Have any of you calor-gas-types had the V5 amended to say 'Dual Fuel', and does it bring down the price of the road fund licence, and what do you have to do to get the DVLA to amend it?
  15. And if so, from whom.....I sort of fancy the idea of tinted glass, but dont want to go down the 'sticky film' route. Oooh err missus!
  16. For my 1989 110 CSW V8 Roooaaaaarer! Thanks in advance
  17. All three types are in line for replacement..........front, middle row, and the rear benches!
  18. Hi, If I remove the seats from the truck, is it just a case of undoing the bolts.........what is the bolt actually screwed into etc? And degree of difficulty (5.5, 5.6, 6.0 etc)? And I am nearly at that moment where I splurge the cash on Exmoors........
  19. Ralphy boy, you are a star. Gracias! - Now to print and laminate........
  20. Of the little diagram that should be inside the fuse box cover in my 1989 110. Anyone got a pdf or jpeg? Thanks in advance.
  21. No. I have the full silencer in, not just a pipe.
