  1. Fridge, which hose is that? What else do you have to do to dump the air meter?
  2. When i went to the propshaft specialist they brought out a brand new double cardon (just the joint) from a Discovery that they said they were putting into a prop for a Land rover. If there were better option surely they would of got one of them to put into a propshaft?
  3. As you have all probably noticed by my threads lately in am having a right s##t time with my Land rovers. A couple of days ago my Rangie was brought out of storage to be used as my daily driver for three to six months. It is a 3.9 Efi with LPG. Anyway due to the LPG garage not being open i took the Rangie to work on petrol for the first couple of days, no problems. On the way home from work on the second day i stopped of at the garage and filled up with LPG. As i set off i changed to LPG and every 50-100 foot it backfired. I thought that this was very strange, as I have never had one problem with the LPG. I thought it was through lack of use and would clear up. After half a mile it was still doing it and i changed back to petrol as i did so the engine died, i managed to get the Rangie off the road before i lost momentum. I tried restarting it and all it did was hunt between 1000 - 1500 rpm for about 10 seconds before stopping. I tried getting it into gear and moving to totally clear the road but it would stall as i got it into gear. I got the bonnet up, started it up and ran around to the engine to see if i could find the problem, as i did so i could hear a large sucking and saw that the Air flow meter to Manifold hose was sheared in half. I assumed this was from the back firing as the LPG injector was very close to this point. I was outside a DIY so i went and brought some black nasty and bodged the hose back together and went home on petrol. Does anybody know what is causing the back firing and surely the LPG didn't find ignition inside this hose to blow it in half?
  4. Jules i know i will have to sort that problem as i stated above. but until that time i can still run it on petrol to get to work. And to be quite honest i need to get the pipe sorted as it is not running to well with the split pipe.
  5. Mike you have answered your own question.
  6. I have a problem with my LPG system back firing which has blown my Air flow meter to manifold hose in half. I know i will have to sort that problem which will probably be posted on here soon. Anyway my Rangie came with the LPG system fitted and i was always unhappy with this hose due to the large kink that was in it due to the introduction of the LPG injection section (don’t know real name sorry) into this sort space. Sorry you can’t see it due to me bodging it back together with black nasty. Is there any other way of connecting these together with a better fitting and more robust hose, Samco for example? How have your LPS systems been plumbed into the engine on your V8's?
  7. Not all of the time. Appropriately trained officers have the discretion to use speed when they feel they need to. I say speed because on some responses lights and sirens are not appropriate. I can tell you that after this case went to court, West Mercia's driving policy was seriously altered!
  8. Over the last couple of days it would have been useful to be able to override the inhibitor switch on my Range rover classic auto so i could of started it in gear. I know that this can be done by fitting a switch, now all i need to know is HOW?? Is it just a case of the inhibitor switch being under gear selector and taking it out of the circuit by fitting a switch in parallel that when closed lets the gearbox think its in park?? I have done a search and looked in the technical archive but to no avail.
  9. Im assuming the part number TVB000100 is the manual gearbox Double cardon propshaft? Has anybody got any other solutions to a Double cardon propshaft?
  10. From which points on the prop should i be measuring?
  11. I did try the other tank but it was still the same. At least it will not be a rebuilt/recon injector pump at £400-£600.
  12. It has covered 142,000 miles and i have no previous service history for it.
  13. Ive got a problem with the LPG system, so im just trying to give the engine a bit of a "spring clean" to see if that cures it before taking it to an LPG specialist. As the LPG system has never given me one problem before and the engine deserves a service.
  14. Cheers. It has not done many miles on an Ashcroft auto box and i was told that it wouldn’t need the oil changing for a while. It had new front discs and pads with new brake fluid last weekend. I had forgotten about the coolant, hubs, t/box, air filter and axles. I am very tired at the moment and the brain is not working properly although i was trying to concentrate on the engine, as that is what im trying to smooth out. How do you check the tappets?
  15. I have visited the Wolf today and seen the fuel injection pump in pieces on the bench, its good news and bad news. The pump looks absolutely brand spanking new on the inside with no signs of wear. He even tested the fuel stop solenoid whilst i was there and that is okay. So he has got to put the pump back together, test it and fit it back on the Wolf. He has then got to look for the problem.
  16. I have owned my Rangie since April 2004 but it has seemed to play second fiddle to my Wolf and spent most of its time off the road (but not through being not road worthy). It has had a steady stream of upgrades fitted. I have never given it a good service. It has been off the road for over six months now occasional getting started and taken around the block. It has become my daily driver two days ago and seems to have developed some problems since being relegated to the back garden (im sure it's trying to get it's own back). Now it's getting used daily i would like to give it a good service, it is a 1990 Range rover classic 3.9 EFI with LPG. What should i replace/service? Engine oil filter Engine oil Fuel filter Spark plugs Sump gasket (leaking) Distributor parts? Anything else?
  17. Pete, Do you know if these props are new or second hand? I have contacted the seller but no reply yet.
  18. Will the Disco 2 prop fit onto my Borg-Warner transfer box? As I’m sure the front prop with this t/box is a different length to the rest?
  19. I have measured the wheelbase and it is 100"
  20. I did see that but did not have a clue as to what it was. Does anybody have a picture of it from a parts book?
  21. Thanks Simon, This phasing thing is like Voodoo magic to me. It is funny that you mention rear trailing arms because i fitted a set of rear cranked trailing arms after the front caster corrected arms, but since fitting all these parts the Rangie has on really been around the block until yesterday. Anyway when fitting the rear arms i was convinced that the arms were 2" shorter than the originals and pulled the bottom of the axle forward when tightening. Is there some sort of reference point on the axle that should be parallel with the ground so i can get a spirit level on or can do something similar?
  22. Hi Peter, What am i looking for on the sellers page? Im assuming it's a propshaft but nothings jumping out?
