  1. will i soon be finding alot of pre 2001 tdi's up for sale as i understand landy's are affected as of 2010?
  2. dont know if im supposed to direct attension to a popular auction site but here goes and plz tell me if i may include item numbers and exact titles etc? as we know using a 200 tdi disco motor requires a modded pipe well theres a fella on ebay selling such an item i bought one last week for £90 inc p&p and its very well made from scratch not a cut up td5 item... exhaust downpipe by the way
  3. ive got the disco 200tdi engine etc and a defender lt bos and tranny just need a td flywheel housing....dont know of which year or if another type will also do the job any info also welcome
  4. my dad had a 1964 series IIa that was a station wagon i assume that would of been a 109 im sure i saw a scrapper on a popular auction site up for grabs the other day you may be in luck and get all the bits you need from a really old one this way, other than that i got a 84 one ten that was a v8 now a td and it climbs ford mondeos daily (see pic) ha ha
  5. as the heading states ive looked at both from above and they seem compatable ....cheers
  6. ive got a disco 200 tdi given to me because it kept on cutting out turned out being a filter/water separator on the drivers side just in front of the rear axle tucked right up near the body floor with a tiny split in the plastic pipe , when you do all your other bits run a new fuel rubber hose in place of the plastic stuff
  7. The motor is a 1984 B reg one ten county station wagon as built in factory with defender type front end and wind down windows but lift up handles (for those that are already confused so am i) . It has a 4 speed box (no overdrive) with an air operated diff locker via a pull button behind the gearstick and the high/low ratio is selected via a shot stick by my left heal next to the handbrake, i assume this to be an LT95 and im also assuming the transfer box is an LT230 1:4 ratio. Please feel free to correct me on any of the above or where to find the id tags to find out. Now stick with me on the next bit im gonna explain it the long way round (we will break for tea and biscuits half way through) The engine is a 2.8 isuzu turbo diesel (i think its of the direct injection variety and dosent even have the glow plugs wired up with even the cold mornings it starts in half a turn) just im not really a fan of running different manufacturers engines in different vehicles and you seem to need to thrash it through the gears to get anywhere, which i think is due to the 4 spd gearbox and the 265 75 16s BF MUD TERRAINS. I have been given a discovery rolling chassis with running gear they have cut all body off from A pillars back but left a seat and she runns sweet but is stuck in locked diff (only after body ripped off and wiring mashed) i fear this maybe due to some wiring touching or the wrong wires being cut i have run it off road and its fine no knocks whines etc NOW THE DILEMA, i want a 5 speed box in my 110 so can i, 1 use the one from the disco? 2 why dosent anyone use the disco item? 3 is it because the gearstick sits too far forward? 4 if not then which gearbox and shall i keep my transferbox? bear in mind i have a conversion plate/belhousing from the 4 spd to the isuzu engine OR 1 would you just use the 200tdi engine and get a defender LT77 and drop the lot in? 2 and finally would i then also need a flywheel housing? if so from which models can this be found and how to be identified? hows that for a first post? many thanks to all replys in advance and no im not a free loader im awaiting the account details for the s/o setup. hope to see you all off the road soon, wayne and tegan.
