  1. Well, beside a big cat, in the forums regard is the Defender´s name from 2007 due to its new engine.
  2. Anybody had lifted a 110" Puma? Long time on this forum I believe, a chap had serious vibration problems by lifting it by 2". Somebody said due to a different driveline geometry????
  3. the first 5000 km it took like half a liter, high speed on highway.
  4. SMO this happened last week in Argentina. They were blaming the tires http://www.rionegro.com.ar/diario/tools/ve...?id=20087v12s10
  5. I use Liqui Moly LEICHTLAUF SPECIAL SAE 5W-30. Meets the LR/Ford specs.
  6. A friend of mine told me there are two new Defenders back with holed sumps at the dealer and of course with dead engines!!!!!
  7. Compared to mine (new and original) they look worn out. The upper coils don´t touch each other that much.
  8. Good to know. I know a chap whose new 110" lost breake fluid through the pump!
  9. Consider as well that any CD will jump when driving on harsh roads. It is useless, so rather plug an MP3 player
  10. No matter what, but I can not convince my wife to drive the 110"
  11. It is for 110" V8 petrol, 300 Tdi or Td5. Not for the 200Tdi.
  12. Tom: About the rattle on uneven surface: when moving push the brake pedal a bit. If the noise stops then you have a problem on the brake pad retainers. The dealer should change the set pad. Mack
  13. I just got some as well. I believe they would not fit on the rear of a 110".
  14. I had the same problem with my Puma and I couldn´t do it myself. I had to go to a gas station where the guy had an adapter like a real needle to fit into the small hole. Good that I did it since the whole thing was quite dry!
  15. I did mine 110 (Puma though) by adding some washers between the rails and the box, gaining about 10 cm of extra room. No need to cut anything.
  16. Today I tried the 255/85/16 using the original alloy 7" rim. Beside minor height increase the section is nearly if not the same as of the 235! They did not look at all like those from SteveG. These were mastercraft (cooper) mt tires.
  17. Can´t belive it . I guess I have then to do the marks on my own! rather that than being in the middle of Bolivia with a holed sump!
  18. I was checking with the "dealer" the part numbers for the rear diff as I was thinking on setting an alternative one. The microcat showed ....: "unserviceable differential" and no details whatsoever. Same for rear prop shaft. The diff on the Puma is not the same as on the last Td5. Therefore Eaton is not recommending any diff for the Puma. I have not checked with ARB yet, but I´ll not bother.
  19. should any suspension lift consider the effect on both, spring and damping rate changes? Besides geometry mods affecting directly on OE bushes?
  20. Rust protection! I know the chassis and underfloor is totally waxoiled. Shuld I look somewhere else?
  21. They should. But not sure in the back or front on those. Appreciated
  22. Hi SteveG I see you have 8J modulars, I guess. And are those 255/85/16? I also presume it gets worse when turning with snow chains.
