ive had the same problem a few times yes my egt is higher but im pushing more hot gas through thanks porny
ive tried all of the above but have ended up with a mixture of all
skim manifold
remove webs make sure you radius all corners to stop it cracking
change the studs to merc ones
i also drilled out the holes in the manifold slightly larger ( this is a trick used by the rally teams in days of old ie mk1 escorts) it allows the manifold to move slightly on heating and cooling and stops it snapping studs but not enough to blow gaskets
i thought about ceramic coating there`s a place in Edinburgh that will do it cheap, but to my thinking that will hold heat in and not let it escape it will increase flow though
im runnung very high boost and the egt is high and i thrash the tits off it and no problem since the mods
if i was going for outright power id buy a tubular from porny might do yet but im skint
my speedo is now unlit so i went to LR parts and bought what i thought was the correct bulb as shown on the screen
they gave me a small bulb which fits in a holder but this is nothing like mine i went back to LR and checked the part on screen which looks correct.
mine has 2 small bulbs with holders in 1 piece i gave the old bulb to LR and they say its the wrong one but the bulb they gave me does not fit the hole and there is no bulb holder
any pointers would be appreciated
my landy is an early TD5 90 y reg
thanks in advance
[probably cheaper to buy a new head unit and multi play from halfrauds than a multi play from main dealer
halfords will now bid on prices at bigger stores and give free fitting
usually got loads of ex demo or last years models cheap too
ive a 2000my td5 90
it was a good starter until recently then it was poor 10% of the time
took ages to crank over, other 90% of the time started first hit
ive just had a clutch and fly wheel fitted by a local garage he noticed the fuel pressure regulator was leaking into the bell housing so this was replaced
got it back had to be cranked over for about 2 mins before it would finally go
he checked fuel pressure and it was slightly low and the pump was a bit noisey so it was suggested that maybe the pump had knackered as it was over pumping due to the regulator leaking
new pump fitted new filter
primed the pump
now nearly impossible to start needs cranking over and over
scared to take it out in case i get stuck some where
nearly new battery , new glo plugs 5000 miles ago
used to run great
think ill get the staple gun i dan nail next doors cat to my shed to stop it sh*ting on my drive lol
if remember rightly it was wolfe gear last year rebranded i was away and i missed it ill be there thius year though

hi
when i changed the loom on mine i used electrical contact cleaner from maplins , take the ecu out , tip the excess from the plug and spray mine took 5 goes till it was totally clear as there was excess in the loom , breaking the seal sound a good idea though i might look at doing that as apreventative measure to stop it happenning again
