  1. if the drops are fairly new on older paint work thinners on one rag and warm water on another , then do very sort sessions with the thinners and wipe with the other then a good rub with compound and a coat of polish . always used to work if someone made a mess in the body shop
  2. ok cheers as i say i have 35s ,2" lift but forgot to mention 1 1/2" body lift so should be covered, havent used the car much yet so dont no exactly how it behaves. thanks for the info also i think the disco looks fine. if it works ok and its only looks your basing the extra inch on i wouldnt worry
  3. #this maybe a silly question but how would an extra inch make that much difference to the 35" tyre as the bump stop remains in the same place so on hard articulation you will have the same problems as a 2" lift. only asking because i have 35" tyres, 2" lift and want to if im losing out somewhere cheers
  4. i found adrian flux good no problems with mods just need a list. good price, plus very helpful
  5. ok ill take some pics might be a few days, i have to borrow a camera basically the doors are welded from the inside to secure them then the door gap built over wilth ally welding and body filed, then the rear handles filled with an ally plate, welded and finished. really the doors still exsist but just not on show, and to cover the inside i made a plate to cover the door and what was left of the quater panel. the rear window is the orignal window and surrond moved forward and braced down to the floor and side windows are bonded plastic made to fit the left over hole. most of it was a case of changing things to suit as it progressed hope this helps as i say sadly no build pics, i expect these would have explaned it better than i can.
  6. no sadly i didnt take any of the build although i wish i had now, ill see if can get hold of a camera not on a phone and post some more. is there any particular area you want to see?
  7. hi how they are normally wired up are red (power with ign on ) yellow (memory always live ) black (earth ) blue ( switchs an amp if fitted ) hope this helps
  8. try ( www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk ) they do a few different clips i used the steel p-clips dont know if it will be any help? if not i dont imagine genuine land rover clips would be that expensive
  9. thanks was trying to keep as bigger field of vision as possible. yeah the tailgate does still work handy if you stuck between two trees The roof was cut about a foot back from the front, middle section removed, welded back together and an original roof support beam fixed over the seam on the inside.
  10. finaly managed to sort out a few pictures. cant find any of the original RR but have one half way through and a couple of the first time out sadly not doing anything exciting as the camera ran out
  11. i would say your best bet of finding them is an os map that way if you get lost looking for them you can find your home and there should be most of them on there
  12. same as smo give it a good scotch and apply a coat of ally etch and it will be fine if your not sure go to a local car paint supplier and the will genrally help you out
  13. oh right .yeah not to far away myself havent been there in my range rover but last time i went i took a lada niva with 2" lift , mud terrains and home mad snorkel and it was fine on all the course except the real deep water, dont no if the course has changed but i would say you dont need to go mad on bits till you find out if you like it. there will be plenty to keep you busy. even the car park area if its wet enough ( saw a few people get stuck there at the end off the day ) good luck
  14. hi i have been to woodlands if its the one near brands and seen standard l200 and vitaras there so as long as you are sensible i cant see any bother its a good place to start not very big though and gets really busy

  16. yeah i think they work on opinions instead of written guidelines
  17. i had my bobtail inspected by dvla a couple of months ago and that had changed from 4 door to 2 door pickup shortened chassis etc and took 5 minutes to inspect no change of chassis number and not many questions seemed simple really
  18. i would say for the money you want to pay its got to be second hand or from guardian i have one of the tubular bumpers from guardian and am very pleased with it ,they are a good standard for the price , although it doesnt rap around the edge like the comp version but did envolve trimming the grill to fit. will try to post pics if i can take some.
  19. oh so its not just me that thinks that there a waste of space. thanks ill have a look at that search
