2 Fast 2 Furious, as far I care to know, is a film regarding a couple of crooks and those highly modified Japanese cars you see floating about with stickers on like "Engine by Mugen" - Yeah riiiiiight. You know the types, gauges everywhere, some with changing backlights, shift lights, rpm into the 1000000s flames painted down the side along with massive alloys shod with rubber bands. Humungous wings and scoops, all feeding turbos big enough to power 747s.

i think a 1.22 would be a very good ratio as you've got a bit more grunt than a Tdi to pull it.
-
21L and 23L accounting for the difference in power? Do believe I have a 21L
-
does anyone know how to distinguish the origin of 300tdi engine?
-
My front diff seems to have a lot of play on the pinion shaft. Is this a case of replace the bearing or is something I can adjust out?
-
Seized cam shaft?
-
I just bought a set
-
worn diff bearings can have the same effect. As can a knackered sliding joint.
The prop has to be balanced by somebody with the correct machine that will calculate the out of balance moment and at which radial position it occurs.

1950 series 1 LWB?
no such thing mate. They were all regular. 80" is the correct wheelbase for the date given.....

couldn't have been easier, i latched the solenoid openand out dropped a piece of hose. I refitted the unit and hey presto god knows how much saved

I do like the McNally one, did you have any supply issues?
this seems the cheapo option, obv meant for a plane, but i assume it will work in a defender?

can anyone reccomend a decent looking EGT gauge that doesn't look like it's been nicked from something out of 2 fast 2 furious?

I have acquired a galv chassis with the engine mounts cut off.
I was wondering if somebody had some dimensions relating to the position of the mounts and the sizes of them?
Cheers
-
got most of it apart already, just need to remove the mounting screws and give it a clean.
Cheers gents!

the bit i didn't particularly fancy removing, however I guess it gives a good chance to fit a new pipe to the gas regulator.
I presume solenoids are easy enough to purchase?

My ever reliable Telwin MasterMig 140 (with upgraded bridge circuit) has developed a problem.
The gas feed stays on the whole time, i think it's possibly one of two things:
-knackered trigger
-Knackered solenoid valve.
It has a Parweld euro torch and doesn;t look obviously dismantled so i'm not so keen to take it apart and look. the old man reckons upon a kmnackered switch but the wire feed works as normal so i'm unsure.
The weder had a major overhaul rouglhy 2 years ago when purchased, the chap runs a dealership in welders and is highly experienced. He uprated the bridge circuit and the welder has no issues dealing with girders etc.
I'm going to call the chap tomorrow and get his view on it, but wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar problem and what the fix was. Opinions welcome on the problem as well.
Cheers gents.

It has become very hard to press the pedal down, we replaced the slave and the pedal is free and things did improve. however all gears are hard to select, it had an Ashcrofts box 18mnths ago.
I suspect the clutch arm problem and will be taking a Les Henson welded arm and a new release.
Do you gents have any other ideas?
Cheers.

Brick Kiln is a piece of la Pissine, completed everything they had to offer with my 90 on Saharas
-
cheers, Dave, all I plan on doing is disconnecting as much as possible, lifting body off, rolling chassis out, dropping body down, rebuilding chassis and refitting body.
-
the macho is a great all rounder, excellent road manners and manages to carry my 90 everywhere i point it.

Interested to know if anoyne has one of these for sale, we have a mate who's clutch control is digital
-
has it a water leak? check P gasket and radiator and weeping core plugs
EDIT: also header tanks can split and leak down the inner wing
-
halfway in the header tank is usual...
try getting the engine warm and look for bubbles in header tank, also check if oil is resembling mayo....
