monkie
I have a 110 hardtop with heavy duty rear spirings. I want to get a load of paving blocks from the builders merchant in the back of the 110 (I have no trailer) and as its local and I'm tight I'm not paying delivery charges. What is the safe carrying capacity for the 110 with HD springs, I've got 1 ton in my head but not sure that's right?
Bowie69
This is likely to help: https://www.parkers.co.uk/vans/reviews/land-rover/defender/110-1990/technical-data/ Appreciate it doesn't go back to pre-Td5, but I'd say 1000Kg would be safe by that reckoning

monkie
If you see a white Land Rover 110 with a blue bonnet in Yeovil, please give me a little extra stopping room!

western
110 hard top on unlevelled suspension payload is 1149kg according to my copy of Tom Shepard's book -- the land rover experience
monkie
Wow that's lucky, I loaded it with 1120Kg. Could certainly feel I had something in the back.
western
the max rear axle weight should be stamped on line 2 of the chassis plate on top of brake pedal assembly, that give you a decent idea.

I did see that, but my 110 was originally a CSW and I converted it to a hardtop with HD springs when the CSW doors and capping were rusted out so I imagine this data to be out a little bit. 2 hours ago, defender dinky said: hi all, if building yard not to far i would put less in truck and make an extra journey be on the safe side, just a thought dd That's good advice, I have a few tons to collect so wanted to see what the max was.
