Tim2809
1989 110 fitted with r380 and 300tdi. new clutch fitted as old clutch broke a spring and started rattling. The problem now is clutch will slip with just weight of foot resting on the clutch pedal. Have tried new clutch master and slave cylinders, flexi hose only 6 months old. pedal set as per manual but still same so have tried loosening lock nuts on the master so have 3mm clearance on both nuts and still same. Have also tried adjusting it so pedal is pulled down by the nut on master rod so the pedal return spring pulls master fully out to ensure its fully released. Have checked push rod is not too long and causing slave to bottom out and also tried spacing the slave away by 10mm just to try. running out of ideas of what to try next. i tow regularly and if change gear fast i recon it wont be long before i could make it slip. clutch is an uprated organic meterial clutch so not a britpart frisbee
neil110
Maybe your new clutch plate is taking a while to bed in? What sort of condition was your fly wheel in?
miketomcat
Did you replace the pressure plate as well if not you need to. The 130 had a heavy duty clutch but for memory that was just a slightly bigger diameter friction plate the pressure was the same. You've checked everything I would the only other thing I can think of is the pedal returning properly. If the pedal is stiff it can keep some pressure on. Tanuki
Check that the hydraulics are not retaining pressure. Pump the clutch a few times, then with no load on the pedal quickly open the bleed-valve. If it squirts fluid (rather than just dribbling) you've got something [m/cyl pushrod set wrongly, seal issues in m/cyl?] that is preventing the hydraulics fully depressurising and is keeping the clutch from being fully released. Tim2809
have checked for retained pressure, have tried 2 different masters and slaves and hydraulics were fine on the clutch i replaced. the flywheel was smooth and it was a 3 part clutch. have done over 1500 miles and still no improvement. Mike pedal is light can depress it by hand and returns easy without needing the return but i have the spring fitted. its the earlier pedal with the long spring not the over centre type Edited October 6, 2018 by Tim2809
