SWB
As per title, has anyone fitted a CB radio aerial to a rag top?. If so, where on the Landy? and where can I get a mounting from?.
Cornish Rattler
Truck cab with rag back or full rag top
Boris113
I mounted it on the rear quarter, just above the number plate - sorry not a great picture. I think the mount was one of these https://www.thunderpole.co.uk/fixed-body-mounts/thunderpole-side-mount-kit.html
SWB
Cheers, thanks for the info. It's a full soft top.
Cornish Rattler
Sorry for the late reply, where Boris has is or on the front bumper, if it was a truck cab I would have said on the back of the cab on the gutter but you can more or less fit them anywhere even on ally but will need an earth wire running from the mount to a bolt that's going through something steel
m1cxf
I have seen a piece of aluminium angle used on a series 2 windscreen mounting bolt used to mount an antenna. You could even mount it on one of the front wings using the hole where wing mirrors were once regularly mounted.
RPR
Use a no-ground plane aerial and mount it to the wing. That one is a "Firestick".
Gazzar
That truck is SoA, isn't it? What axles?
RPR
Not SoA, just Volvo C303 axles.
