In need of HELP.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and in great need of help.

I bought a 89 Land Rover TDI Defender and unfortunately for me when I got it home and everything got checked in greater detail, all the wiring has burned out and is no good.

I have no idea were to look or who I should contact to found a  Bulkhead with dash and wiring loom?

Did buy one off ebay but even though it was advertised as diesel, when I got it home, found out it was for petrol.

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

They didn't make tdi Defenders in 89 so you have a conversion anyway - no problem though as the engine loom is seperate & plugs into the main harness which as said is the same for petrol/diesel anyway. There is also a seperate loom which plugs in to the main harness which runs to the rear lamps, so if that part is good no need to buy again.

Easy enough to change if not a bit fiddly, runs along the back of the lower dash

Not quite true, they offered the 200tdi factory upgrade kit to a few 1989 Land rovers, the engine number should tell you if it was a factory upgrade kit I think they have an S suffix in the number.

Also the Diesel Turbo can be mistaken for a Tdi.

If it left the factory in 1989 with 19J and was upgraded a few years later with a 200tdi upgrade kit, that's still a conversion right?
