FridgeFreezer
The "it's all made in the same factory and just put in a different box" argument is a bit daft - people can manufacture stuff to any spec you ask for, and I dare say that the spec LR demand for a filter or a bearing is a bit better than whatever Britpart demand, even if the stuff leaves the factory in the same consignment. Whatever you think of their prices, gen parts are at least made to a spec that has to meet the factory warranty, pass crash safety, emissions, handling, etc, etc, while I get the impression Britpart are happy if it looks a bit like it might fit and appears to be made of some sort of metal. I'm sure the same GKN factory turns out bearings for jet fighters and shopping trolley wheels, must be a con that one costs more than the other
Mutley
Agree with you FridgeFreezer it's all made in the same place and pretty sure Britpart buy up ALL the seconds and reject waste parts, I think they trade under the name BIFFA too!?! đ

I can definitely confirm that. Ok it was a few years ago now but I have been at a fair few automotive parts suppliers when we were localising parts within the EU. Standards of parts quality could and did vary depending on the customer's demands, especially around process and parts quality control and following of operation standards.
