Hetty
Hi Can anyone tell me what might be causing my 2.25 petrol Series 3 to be over-revving? When in idle the revs build up to max revs. Â Many thanks. Ian.

secondjeremy
What's happening to the throttle and its linkage?
lo-fi
Got to be a return spring is broken and the weight of the pedal is causing it to throttle up.
Cornish Rattler
I had this years ago on my then S2a and it turned out to be the bulkhead was flexing due to rot, was ok revving it stationary but when driving and coming to a junction and braking the engine would go to a fast idle till you stopped, renovated the bulkhead during a ground up rebuild curved it 🥱
