vulcan bomber
I'm about to do some major surgery on the back end of my 110. Floors coming out etc so seems sensible to fit a new fuel tank while we are in there (current tank is leaking somewhere) so any suppliers that are recommended? any to definitely avoid? Any aftermarket options with bigger capacity? Vehicle is of 1989 vintage. Edited October 10, 2021 by vulcan bomber

cackshifter
Safari used to do stainless steel, I think 110 litre ones. Probably cost you a kidney....
Peaklander
I bought a replacement metal one from RST on eBay. I don’t remember the make though but I do remember the impossible shield to fit. I’d bought a new one but there was no way I could get it to bend around. I eventually bought a rigid ally one. It was far easier. I used a new cork gasket at the pickup on top but it leaked slightly when full and sloshing about and eventually I had to reseal with a little Dirko. pete3000
The only issue i found was the return pipe gasket leaking through the screw holes on the top of the tank if brimmed, as they weren't blind holes, i did a follow up post with western to avoid the green/silver gasket thingy. https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/fuel-tank-fitting-genuine-wfe000190kit-esr2000kit-nrc7570kit-wkk000020k-p-6638.html i got one of these afterwards which stopped the leak https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133655927607?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1iV2fv4oHQSqBj1wPZrgkkw66&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=133655927607&targetid=1394813963980&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=1006524&poi=&campaignid=14475941483&mkgroupid=129148085960&rlsatarget=pla-1394813963980&abcId=9300649&merchantid=113082367&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsK3b2cHF8wIV6ujtCh0ItAi1EAQYAyABEgIo1vD_BwE Pete Edited October 12, 2021 by pete3000
Peaklander
I remember trying to follow someone’s advice about the screws in that blue ring thing and preventing leaks up the threads. I also used the cork gasket but still had a smell and damp across the top of the tank. When I rebuilt the floor, I lifted the return back out and used Dirko to seal and it’s been fine since.
