trickydicky
hi i have a recently tried to fit LED headlights and noticed the blue and red wire to the headlights is permanently live my old headlights worked ok but they were very dim iv changed the light switch and that's not helped could this be a relay problem ? how would i test for this ?if i pull the left light fuse it goes out .the blue and red cable going to the main beam switch is live .would a dodgy relay be able to make the cable live when the key isn't inserted? Peaklander
This diagram might help. It's a simplified circuit to help me with any dipped beam fault finding. I have removed the dim / dip relay and you can see in my diagram that it is replaced with a piece of wire across the relay base that provided a short between the blue/red cables. 1996 300TDi

vulcan bomber
Dim Dip isn't a legal requirement. Unplug the unit and forget about it.
