landybear
Just recently got my first landy on Friday loving it!! but it has or has had an oil leak. The pipe highlighted is caked in oil but dont know if its the cause of the leak. I am just getting to grips with it so bare with me for the slightly noddy style questions. Many thanks
Les Henson
The small black cylinder next to it is called the cyclone filter and as there is just one silly M5 bolt holding it on, it has a bad reputation for leaking. Perhaps that is where the leak is and it's spitting oil onto the pipe? Les.
western
or the hose connection at the rocker cover is split or the jubilee clip isn't tight enough.
poacher
The pipe has probably split but to be sure put a new o ring on the cyclone filter, only minutes to do. HTH Dave
BogMonster
Those pipes can and do split usually on the inside of the curve IIRC so you can't really see it till you take it off. Rocker cover seal and the PCV valve Les mentioned are the other regular leaky bits in that area.
