ciderman
Blank it off , on the intercooler pipe by cutting the stub off and welding a plate to make the pipe as smooth as possible , any snags will cause a turbulent back pressure .
freeagent
I removed mine and replaced the intercooler top hose with a piece of exhaust pipe.. I think it made a difference, and looking at the amount of black carp in my intake manifold it was certainly helping to gum up my engine. You are better off without. geoffbeaumont
Search the Discovery forum - it comes up regularly there. Easy to blank off or completely remove, and if it's failed open it's severely impairing your performance and emissions and gumming up your air intake to boot. Yup (to above) Took mine out of both 110 & Disco. Not sure on improvement as it was done in conjunction with new intercooler and pump fuelling. You can get blanking plates for the exhaust manifold.
