Anderzander
That's helpful! thank you. Pictures are good. Where did you get yours from? Having read that thread you linked I must admit I never thought about an increase in induction noise ..... how bad is it?
TJ101
Mine came direct from mantec,, as i have an account You may have read it wrong,, the Puma defender has quite a induction noise,, or at least mine had,, but with the RAI its now quieter, and hardy noticeable,, may have got used to it ?? Somewhere GBMUD did some good pictures of the fitting ??
Anderzander
That's a relief - I've never been keen on a big induction noise! phew. Ok - I'll spend some time trawling the net for the best price. Credit crunch an' all I need to save any pennies I can. Thank you for your help again.

santalars
http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=18741 If the SS cyclonic openings at the underside there are the only area the air can come in it looks to be very tight. The prvious owner of my 300 tdi has fitted a finer mesh on the inlet of the safary snorkel. After I have removed and replaced this with the ss original shape safari one I had a realy significant increase of power.
TJ101
santalars Don't worry about it,, at the rear, top, is another inlet, from memory, about 1.5" square
GBMUD
I am not a specially hard driver but I did not notice any reduction in performance with the intake fitted. Chris

Anderzander
Where did you get yours from Badger?
The Badger
got mine from mantec, to make the seal extra snug, I added an additional gasket of neopreane to the inside rim, and then a bead of silicon sealant whilst fitting. Have not noticed a lack of performance at all, well it has been re-mapped..... might not count.....
