landybear
Guys and Gals, I know thats about as open question as it gets but i have a 300 90 at the moment and dont really want to go nuts in it as i need it for daily drive. So whats a good bet for a play thing?? I would like a disco but would have to have a mother of a trailer which i wouldnt be able to store. Maybe a series 2/3 but have never driven one and dont know about off road capabilities compared to that of say a 90 or a disco with diff lock. I dont have the expertise to really create a hybrid so want a base vehicle which i can adapt. I am ok with most stuff and learning?? Am thinking of doing this so i can have a free crack everything off road and if i break it then so be it!! Many thanks in advance.

landybear
Yeah in an ideal world that would be best just demand too much money still, with discos & series being cheaper that seems a better option.

Projectblue
You can buy a Disco for the money you would pay for a SIII. Might be tad big for towing around a lot behind a 90 though. If you are of reasonably small stature then you can't go far wrong with a Suzuki SJ.
landybear
Yeah i suppose so, just really wanted to stay green oval cos i absolutely love them. Hmmmm am stuggling a bit really, ideally i would love a 90. But for around a 1000-1500 not really happening

FridgeFreezer
I agree - SJ or for green oval cheapness a V8 RR or Disco with the heavy stuff stripped out, probably come out similar in weight to a defender. Whatever you do, drive a Series before buying one, they're not like coilers.
