Rather Steep

His problem is driving EFI V8s. The idle control forces the engine to push at a "high" rpm. A good diesel or carbed V8 doesn't have this problem, IME.

In that case, over to Mr. Fridgefreezer. Can you solve this one with the right maps in your Megasquirt?

A thought - for us auto drivers that would probably be good for fuel economy too, as the engine wouldn't be pushing as hard against the brakes when we're stopped?

Underdrive the way to go!

if there's any grip your laughing.

any slopes I've driven have been an absoloute breeze since fitting it.

JST will concour I'm sure.

35's on 3.54 R/P make for intresting descents.

We;ve driven hills that have had mR Beast white with fear and other forumeeers have declined

I too would have declined until now.

Michele when your next over have a drive and see what I mean.

PS no underdrive will make this any easier :D

John,good point...!

Although I never drove a V8 (on steep descents at least!) and I don't know the "feeling".

But,even with a diesel, there are circumstancies (? ) in which "slow" is not enough "slow"

<_<

(IMHO)

bit of a difference thou - 3-4 meter steep drop with a lovely little muddy pudle on the end off it - OR 150-200 meter long drop with end no were in sight - and thats just going straight !!!

rather take the muddy drop (always!!!!! ) I think I would have an accident and need new pants if I looked down the side!!!!!!!!!!!!
