I have a V8 Disco with snorkel, off road tyres and should have time to fit a Steering guard before the end of the month. I have done a bit as a passenger / navigator (Belgium national etc.) So have an idea what it's all about. Should be able to make either dates if your not to far away. JST
Will start PM in a minute with grid of start. nos for the days i have as: What,, something like this Steve ?? vehicles so far are: 27th harder day - 0900 meet 1. James + James 2. Walfy 3. Tim (TJ101) + Mark (Savage still not running) 4. TC (White90) + Hermione 2nd grp 5. Steve (Dunsterhybrid) 6. recca (Dunsterhybrid'S Mate) 7. Tight Fart 8. Red Ben 29th - easier day (not too easy I hope) - 0930 meet 1. JST + John 2. Pugwash 3. Walfy 4. TC+HT 2nd grp 5. David (honitonhobbit) 6. John (John_T) 7. Will, Lucy, Thomas and Henry aboard the Beasty 110 8. Tim (TJ101) also TBC Pete, CJ and AJ groups above will no doubt be mixed depending who wants to go with who (or who arrives first!) I will have some grids of the proposed routes we can do, obviously different for each day! although some lanes will be repeated. We can try running on channel 32 CB, so if you turn up late and we have gone, try that. i will also PM my mobile so please drop me a line if your running late and we can re RV. I was planning on lunch at Winsford, or Exford or we can do R Cross (although a little over from proposed routes) - note i havent done any fwd panning on this element (or the others yet!) so nothing is booked! Needless to say i will be taking thermos and lunch as back up.........(plus i get hungry all the time anyway) Aim will be to leave meeting point within 30mins of above arrival times. 1230 - 1400 lunch or so, aiming to finish the day around 1600hrs. I will plan some routes and give these out which will certianly cover the morning the pm can be tailored to suit the groups, depending what people want to do. I think a good elm of the day will be the social chat so would aim for both groups to meet up for lunch. Most of the tracks will be rocky rather than muddy so making a mess and getting stuck is not really going to be an option. (ltd traction of rocks may limit fwd movement but i doubt you will get stuck) I am not sure of Tight Farts or Red Bens setups etc, the rest of you i know although only to say you were free for both dates so i stuck you down for the 27th. It looks like we could run 3 grps of 4 on the 29th so theres potential there anyway if you would rather. and as prev mentioned groups will be made up on the day anyway to suit. I will aim to be there there about 15mins prior to meet times. i cant do any earlier on the 29th as i will be nipping to Taunton first thing, although canmove the 27th timings fwd if required. Please can you email me or reply to the PM to confirm reciept. Oh and Happy Chrsitmas everyone!

Aim will be to leave nolater than 30mins of meet time, so you should aim for the meet time not the cut off time! (Jim!!!) i know an early start for you on Thur................ JST
Enjoyable day out i feel, cheers for the company. Shame you other 2 guys couldnt make it. Photos to follow (although they are limited and dont look that special!) Hope the Hybrid made it home on enough juice Tim! Looking fwd to Thur. Please note to those coming on Thur, if your not there by the cut off time then ring me to find out where we are as we will be enroute! There will be a max of 4 vehicles per grp. so prob quite a few groups (3) please if you have maps can you bring them, then you could lead a grp! honitonhobbit
CJ and Aj aren't coming - Pete is. I think one of the guys from S4x4R is coming as well. Mike Green may be turning up as well.
JST
A good day today, in the end we had 2 grps of 3. TJ101 and Dunsterhybrid + a suzuki that had to retire later in the day JST + White90+Walfy. I have some pics of the latter grp as below. it was a chance to drive some good testing lanes (as they were only lanes) and see how some resonably specced up vehicles faired. Two climbs in the day proved fun and i had more than a couple of run ups on both due to loose rocks, slippery rocks, rock steps and prob driver error! There were also alot of trail bike riders about so the lanes are certianly getting used. Walfy going down hill faster than he wanted with lack of low enough low gears! nice side slope, at least it cant fall far! some well placed trees and roots

TJ101
James,, yep, made it back,, on the bottom of the red !!! but only got 43 lts in,, anyone know how big a defender tank is ?? reckon I have a funny gauge !! down side of a V8,, 11ish to the gallon !!!! Cracking day,, Dunster, his mate in the Zuk and I had done 3/4 of the route, then remembered lunch !! and the pub, so had to back track,, had no bothers at all, bar for the zuk needing a little help up one hill !!, and a lightweight, having to winch up another !! The Zuk made it to within 4 lanes from the finish, then called it a day, with a poorly clutch, and was bump started all the way back to Dunster !! Might have to bale out a little early on thus, have to catch the ferry from Portsmouth @ 20.00 will see how tomorrow goes workwise !! Thanks again James for the work put in,, good route, made very enjoyable, with the good company,,
JST
Tim, Tony, sent you both an email last night. also had routes attached. Did they get through? I should be there for 0945hrs latest. Tim 55l I believe a pre TD5 type tank holds on a 90. i am expecting as below tomorrow: 1. JST + John 2. Pugwash 3. Walfy 4. TC+HT 2nd grp 5. Tight Fart? 6. John (John_T) 7. Will, Lucy, Thomas and Henry aboard the Beasty 110 8. Tim (TJ101) 3rd Group 9. Pete 10. S4x4R 11. David (honitonhobbit) 12. The desire is for last grp to leave the car park by 1000hrs. If you arrive after and wish to catch up by all means give me a ring on the mobile. The aim of the day is to do some gentle greenlanes that any 4x4 should be able to do on AT tyres without too much trouble, so please dont expect anything too much. Lunch is planned to be at the pub from 1230 onwards (depending on how quickly you get through the route, with an hour or so of routes post lunch) For those that want some more testing lanes, we could then go onto these. look fwd to seeing you all there
