Wolf rear axle

I had one fitted to my old 90. Absalutely great bit of kit, I fitted a Detroit to it and was well happy. I then sold the 90 and regretted not changing the axle. The new owner then sold the axle for in excess of £400 I think. I was totaly amazed at the price.

Be aware the drive members are about £70 IIRC so not to cheap. :o

If you are really interested, offer him 300 quid and see what he says - I notice he says there's lots of interest, but no bids when I checked... Thats got to be a good price if you don't already have discs - careful though, or you'll screw the brake balance and have too much rear bias with discs at the back and drums on the front.

People pay nearly that much for just the diffs sometimes.

I would put it on a '90 Range rover classic. So ive got disk brakes all round. The only problem is the Rangie has a secondary brake system, Would it be better to put the Rangie calipers on this axle?

The "Wolf" axle does not have a locker as i have one under the back of my "Wolf". I know these axles don't have a standard Land rover diff, So which one does it have?

Any Rover diff will fit apart from Salisbury of course.

It has a p38 fitted as standard (Shorter in the nose)

THe axle is very heavy.

And as some have said of it ....

"Don't bother, If you want a snow plough, buy a snow plough"

Kinda think they are talking about all that carp welded underneath.

However, you ain't gona break it :P

Jim

Ps: How yer doing Mark? Well i hope. Still got that Compo?
