Madcowz
I have searched for this but can't find a definitive answer. My Microcat shows the gauge lights as being 2w whereas on here a 501 bulb is recommended, my confusion arises as a Halfrauds 501 is a 5w bulb and the closest I can find to a 2w is the 297 2.2w bulb. What should I be fitting please. thanks, mad
David Sparkes
With no more information than it's a light for illumination of a dashboard gauge, the answer is 2.2 watts. By 'on here' do you mean another post on the Forum? If so, that's three possible lessons learnt. Even the Gods stumble. Some posters are a long way from being Gods. Your own judgement can be best. :-)) The trick is to sort out who is, who isn't, when the 'is' are having a bad day, and when you are having a good day!! Cheers. Two more questions... are you an 'is' and if you are, are you having a good day? ;-) cheers for the info. mad
Guest diesel_jim
If its the wedge bulbs that do the speedo and other guages for 200/300/anything pre Td5, then they're actually 2.2watts. we use hundreds of them at work on fruit machines. shout if you want any, i'll fling some over! western
don't fit any with higher wattage cos they will melt the tube & green lens inside the gauges. or talk to Simonb on here about his gren or blue led's for gauges. much beter that the normal bulbs. Hmm, was just going to say don't fit the bigger ones cos of the above, but Western's beaten me to it and given me a plug as well...

Madcowz
I knew you'd pop-up after a name drop Like a Genie! I was planning on fitting some of your LED replacements and still will do, but not just now. Wanted to get the gauges all working and have the fun and enjoyment of wondering if the the standard feeble lights were on or not. But an upgrade to LED's is on the cards. mad
