Mack
Would those 8x16 (8 offset) wheels offered by devon fitted with 255/85/16 hit the fenders having std suspension? Not sure at all the offset of the std alloy 7x16 rims.

Hybrid_From_Hell
Depends on the offset / backspace, and to a degree the flex in your springs. I would say 255s and 85s too x16 will hit the arches, I say this as I had 7x16 at one point with 235 85 x1 6 grizzy claws and they did JUST touch, 255s are wider, as i the 8x16 hence why I think yep they will make contact Prob not the best answer you could wish for but a start Nige
JST
i had 255/85s on 6.5J wolf rims and they just touched the rear arch on std springs front was OK. dont know how the offset compares though. if its a 8J compared to a 7J wouldnt the tyre be slightly smaller (dia wise) anyway? SteveG
Yes, you don't have much room on std suspension and they will rub on full articulation off road on the lower part of the plastic arch on each side at the rear and trailing side at the front. nothing that a stanley knife can't cure.. Mack
Hi SteveG I see you have 8J modulars, I guess. And are those 255/85/16? I also presume it gets worse when turning with snow chains.

explorer
Putting a set of mach 5's with 255 85 16 BFG MT's on my 110 at the weekend will let you know if they catch
Mack
Today I tried the 255/85/16 using the original alloy 7" rim. Beside minor height increase the section is nearly if not the same as of the 235! They did not look at all like those from SteveG. These were mastercraft (cooper) mt tires.
