landybear
Hi all, I am trying to work out what is 'clicking' when i turn left. I have looked underneath and nothing is loose. It seems to be under the left hand side of vehicle like under where passengers feet goes. Anyone had this before? At first i thought battery knocking but that is secured? It sounds like your jaw clicking in and out!! Thats the only way to describe it. Cheers
BogMonster
CV joint on the way out would be my guess, the prop UJs are also worth a look but they would make a noise all the time

110_USA
Thats similar to what I heard when my bearings went out, was most severe during turning but would happen occasionally just going straight.
landybear
Cheers for the replies guys. Anyway of checking the CV to make sure or not?
LandyManLuke
If it's not the obvious things like tyres on the radius arms, or the prop UJs, there's not really anything else it could be. failing CVs make a pretty distinctive sound. As has been said, they sound worse when you've got some lock on. By the time you've stripped down the hub and swivel to look at the CV, you might as well replace it. FWIW, when my CVs failed, the sound was worse in reverse than going forward.
