Hi

I have just bought an Auverland A3 (sad I know or maybe not)

Any seems to be a bit of a rare beast so I am looking for anyone with any info on them.

IE, what parts they use from other manufacturers any upgrades or mods worth doing.

I am also looking for a manual and any spares, even a complete breaker would be good.

Would appreciate any help and/or advice.

Worry not. I have a feeling someone on this forum will be along very shortly to tell you everything you needed to know about Auverland's...and more...!

Put the kettle on and plump up a cushion. This could take some time.

Come on David, the clock's ticking...

That's the one that was on Ebay not so long ago - belonged to a chap in Minehead I think.

I'm sure Luvvers will be along in a minute, but in case he isn't - I've got an A3 sat outside right now - and having spent the last couple of months working on it for it's owner, I'm quite impressed with it....

Basically, it's an Auverland designed galv bodyshell on a ladder chassis and using mainly Peugeot running gear. The standard engine is a 1.9 XUD, normally aspirated, coupled to a Pug 504 main gearbox and an Auverland 2 speed 2/4 wheel drive transfer box. Pug 405 clutch.

Coil sprung live axles with an LSD in the rear - both DANA 44's made by Salisbury. Discs on the front and drums rear - fronts are as per the early Citroen C25, rears are same as Volvo 344/mk 2 escort. Range Rover +1" shocks.

They are still made - although no longer imported into the UK. They now use the turbo'd version of the XUD but are basically what I've outlined above.

Have a look HERE and HERE for a bit more info.

Hope this helps.

I've retired - Matt is the new expert on them, having spent months re-building Darren's

Ok chaps who ever is the expert can you help?

I have blown the steering box (6 bolt LR gemma) and most say its a weak point as even LR ditched it quite quickly.

So is there an easy conversion to say for instance a 4bolt box . I guess also it would depend on the drop arm and whether it is a LR item. Or does anyone know where I can get a replacement 6 bolt at reasonable cost.

Also the speedo doesnt work and I believe it is an electronic Peugeot item but I am not sure where there sender is and what it is if it needs replacing.

And finally (for now) there is a lot of vibration coming through the body when driving and also when stationary. Feels like a mount has gone but I can only find one engine mount and that seems to be intact although I have not tried lifting engine to see if its worn.

Thanks chaps whoever you are
