Comical Engineer
I want to remove the viscous fan in the next week or so but haven't got anything in my spanner box that will do the job. Could some kind soul please provide me with a part number / supplier / tell me the one I need so that I can get one. Or alternatively, is there someone in the Northwich / Runcorn / Chester triangle who could lend me one? Actually I've found the size courtesy of a Les Henson post -- 32mm. Just trying to find one now! Thanks
LandyManLuke
most auto factors (even halfrauds) should have a cranked 32mm spanner.
andyb
^^^^ what he said The Halfords one (which I think is made by Laser) is double ended. There are only two sizes of viscious fan nut and that one covers both.....certainly worked on my 200Tdi Discovery
BogMonster
Difflock used to do them too but yes - I have a double ended one (32mm one end, 36mm the other) which I bought from Halfords last time I was over - the 36mm end fits Td5s and later V8s. Already tried Halfrauds -- not in stock. Local car shop can order one for next week... Was hoping to do it at the weekend

jil6939
Just ordered one for delivery next week. But thanks for the replies. You can make one from a bit of flat bar with a square cut out using an angle grinder (both are things most Landrover owners have lying around) about 30cm long and just give it a tap round with a hammer to slacken the nut. Dont forget the thread turns the wrong way!

teabag
Mine is made out of an old Series Leaf spring! A car spring recycled into a spanner. Cool
bushwhacker
This is what I like to read about improvisation. I think I will make one. Any other ideas. It could have it's own section and would certainly help everyone.
