wheatfielder
Strange one- I lock the rear door and test it- all locked, lovely. Drive a few mins, get out, try door and its un-locked again! - its a 1991 tdi and has no central locking so rear lock must be moving somewhere, any ideas? thanks. Cat_J
Does the rear door rattle while you drive? I should imagine it does.

Simon Smith
The hair spring has broken. If you drill out the holes where it is riveted together you can take the lock apart. I made a new hairspring from one on an old microswitch I found in the garage.

I just need to lift the lever and mine unlocks. Rather than muck about with it, I just riveted a hasp and padlock on to the door and forgot about it. Steve King
Mine is the exact opposite - if I leave it unlocked I can guarantee that it will be locked when I arrive and my destination and go to unload! B)

B) I guess all your cars are all haunted.. "Ghosts at Skeleton Rock" haunts them. Mine did the adverse (Lock and it opens;open and it locks) for a while until I lost some items (mainly food I bought for Supper) to a scoundrel. I bought a new set of lock and barrel and now it funtions well. wouldn't spend more than a 20 quid i guess..
Cat_J
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LANDROVER-90-110-DOO...id=p3286.c0.m14 You could get these but I'd recommend getting the 110 set and replacing them all then you'll have two spare for when they go.
