mike4444244
Errr just from a quick scan down the list you can save £473.35 straight away by removing the following... DeCarbon Gas shocks - use OEM ones much cheaper Brake kit - buy the pipe and unions and a tool and DIY, then you have the tool for next time HD steering rods - sleeve yours with appropriate size tube or carry a spare, second hand ones are v cheap Series manual - nope, download it for free Deflex bushes - use OEM then you wont need to replace them every 2 weeks Steering damper - use OEM Props - dunno what the sliding joint is like but if its ok just put new OEM UJs in That should keep you busy for a while! And dont forget all those prices are + VAT!!!! Mike
David Sparkes
The track rod ends specified seem to be duplicated, (Replacement v OEM) I don't see you need both types. I wouldn't argue against Mike's suggestions, but do add that it may be beneficial to run the remaining part numbers through http://www.LRseries.com, which might bring the cost down some more. Have fun!
FridgeFreezer
Deflex bushes - use OEM then you wont need to replace them every 2 weeks The OE ones may be longer lasting but I run Deflex and reckon they're reasonable value, and changing them is considerably easier than OE ones. £40 for a full vehicle kit is hardly breaking the bank. Propshaft gaiters I wouldn't bother with (likewise swivel gaiters or shock boots), there are two schools of thought - fit gaiters to keep things clean, or don't fit them so you can inspect, clean, and grease as necessary. Jon White
Only replace whats worn IMHO and then only with standard replacements. If it aint worn out dont replace it. You'll save a heap of money that way. Decarbon shocks are totally unsuitable for a series. If you're on stock leaves then run stock shocks. If you're on parrotsbollox than pro-comps. Dont bother with HD steerin rods. They're well protected on a series and in all the years I've had my truck (I've done winch challenges with it etc) I've only ever bent one! I simply keep a spare one zip tied to the rool cage. Download the manual for free off the net. Dont bother with prop gaitors as they just fill up with mud. Do you really need new drums all round???? Etc etc etc. Like I said - only replace what needs to be replaced! Jon
