Wheel Nut Thread Size

Anyone know what thread it is on a series 3 wheel stud?

A friend is in need of some replacement wheel studs for his plant trailer, we know the dimensions but to order some we need to know the thread. The nuts fit perfectly onto the series 3 studs so I presume it's the same.

I'm guessing it's a UNF thread?

Also anyone recommend a good place to buy wheel studs from?

Backing what BogMonster has written, because I see too much Series 2 information.

Series 2 did start off as 9/16" BSF, but these screwed into the hub. A common upgrade is to drill these out and use the later M16 studs, as these pull in, and are less likely to unscrew after somebody has been at them with an air gun wound up to maximum.

Good place to buy in Staffordshire - try Beamends http://www.beamends-lrspares.co.uk/ who do NOT do Mail Order.

Good luck with the Geraniums.

Thanks David,

Beam-ends is about 1/2 a mile away! He does the series studs but the splined bit isn't wide enough on them for the trailer hubs, the trailer ones do however have the same thread.

I was surprised they were Metric though.

Many thanks ofr the confirmation on M16.
