Mark Posted February 16, 2009 Share Posted February 16, 2009 Does anyone know if there is any kind of speacialist tool insurance available to the general public? I use some space in a friends barn to work on my truck, and sometimes leave tools there. It being a barn is not covered by my friends contents insurance, and with it not being on my property it is not covered by my contents insurance either. I don't use anything in connection with a business, so commercial insurance would be inappropriate, and expensive, so I wondered if anyone else had any ideas on how to get stuff covered. Mark Posted February 16, 2009 Author Share Posted February 16, 2009 I would have thought that too, however, on talking to someone in their Henfield office, they are not remotely interested, and couldn't suggest a way of achieving it either I can only really find tool insurance for commercial users - at commercial prices... They operate a scheme aimed at model engineers, but when I explained what I wanted they weren't at all worried that it had nothing to do with model engineering, and were more than happy to provide cover. They will cover tools in a locked building anywhere in the british isles. Will see what the cover comes to once I work out cover values... cheers for the link, seems perfect. Having said that i am a landscaper and tree surgeon, not sure what you do, but they might be able to help you.
