honitonhobbit
In this months LROi is a Greenlaning Handbook with 20 of the' Best Greenlanes' in the UK in it Number 5 is based on an area of the Somerset Wetlands, including SSSI's and nature reserves. All bar three of the routes marked are private access routes to pasture - the three that aren't are tarmaced public roads. All these private routes are dead end with no turning points; they are bounded by very deep drainage ditches, built from clay over willow bundles. They are called summer droves - the name gives it away Driving droves that are NOT marked as UCR's and are not on the county definative map is illegal The local RoW offices form Somerset County Council has been informed as have the land owners - they are not happy bunnies Illegal use will result in the loss of the offenders vehicle and some big fines! Please post this on other forums Many thanks
