kanggwan
Hi there My jack on DII has been leaking and it isn't working properly. Is it worth re-filling it and if so how and what oil etc? Thanks in advance Stewart
BogMonster
No. Dump it and get another one. Mine lives on its side and has not leaked in seven years most of which has been stored like this. Bound to let you down when least convenient...
stageonesimmo
Is it a plastic bodied one, orange colour bottle thing? If yes, take it to the dealer and demand a replacement - it was good enough for the MoD so it should be for you - the MoD replaced the whole WOLF fleet jacks cos the placcy bodied things leaked at the drop of a hat - they were all replaced with nice metal bodied ones at no cost. If it's already metal then depending on the severity of the leak you can top it back up with clean engine oil, but I'd have to say why bother for the cost of a new jack. First_Fleet
You could look at this & see if it's worthwhile. The bloke who wrote it is ex (?) RAEME. Jack repairs
Reng
You could look at this & see if it's worthwhile. The bloke who wrote it is ex (?) RAEME.Jack repairs Dont just refill as it will leak again. Find someone in CT that can redoo the seals and refill the jack with the correct fluid. It can be done and is a lot cheaper than a new jack in SA
J@mes
new jacks here are about £120, and I am yet to find another one that has twin stage rams (not a screw out second section) that have the axle tube plate on the top.
teabag
Jacks are filled with Hydraulic Jack Oil not engine oil the trouble is jacks take a different amount depending on the jack and manufacture. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...8107_langId_-1d
