HIGH COURT DECISION – 19 JUNE 2009 The TROs imposed by the Authority on the following four routes on 30th May 2008 were quashed by the High Court on 19th June 2009. The Authority will be reassessing management options for these routes. Given the environmental sensitivity of these routes, however, voluntary restraint from recreational motor vehicle users is sought and recreation motor vehicle users are asked not to use these four routes. In addition recreational motor vehicle users are also asked to note the current definitive map status of three of the routes and the Authority's views in the ‘Comments’ section regarding status and possible higher rights. Anyone using Stockdale lane, Arncliffe Cote or Harber Scar Lane as through routes by motor vehicle, without lawful authority, may be committing an offence under section 34 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and will be liable to prosecution. ChrisV8 Posted June 23, 2009 Share Posted June 23, 2009 Gorbeck is the only route I would consider using, Arncliffe Cote is not passable due to narrow gates, Stockdale Lane is too narrow and Harber appears to be totally disputed. The Bobblies especially Mr Bartholomews anti motorised users YDGLA will be out in force now to "Police" the voluntary restraint request with cameras etc etc so keep to the guidelines please. Until we get Mr B and his cronies the 6 or 7 paid up members of the Ramblers off the LAF we are fighting a war here, we have won the first battle but there's a long way to go yet.
