DrRob
Took fan off to replace hoses and clean i'cooler. Messy job. Noticed the viscous fan is leaking a bit of oil on front edge by the "springy thing". Is it on its way out? If so, should I buy £28 from Paddocks or £49 Genuine? I'm leaning towards Genuine.... Cheers Rob
western
Yes, it's leaking the viscous fluid, only fit for the scralbin. I'd go for a genuine one everytime.
GBMUD
should I buy £28 from Paddocks or £49 Genuine? How much fun is changing it? I think you know the answer really. Chris
BogMonster
The price of Gen has come down they used to be best part of £200! For that difference I would get a genuine one - but at the prices they used to be I would get a cheapy as the genuine ones don't last very long either (at least the 300Tdi ones don't - usually the bearing goes after about a year or two) They are not hard to change - assuming some numpty hasn't over tightened the nut it takes about 10 minutes tops, one nut and four allen screws! DrRob
Cheers folks! It came off with the 32mm proper spanner with no problems whatsover....a quick knock and it was off. Hopefully the Allen bolts will be just as easy... Will buy Genuine and replace it next week..... Ta!
