Electric fuel pump

Anyone got any ideas of what sort of ltr/min flow a rover v8 electric fuel pump would produce ?

And would using it to pump derv do it any damage ?

The reason i ask is, i'm planning on fitting another 90 underseat tank, on the passengers side, and then using the pump to transfer the derv to the main tank.

This is the twin tank system that LR fitted to pre Td5 110's. no 2nd fuel pump just a on/off electrically switched valve for the underseat tank, the on/off rocker switch fits on the underside of the dash to the right of the steering column. thought this might help.

A Red Top will do 170 litres per hour.... and has bigger 1/4" rather than 1/8" ports that the RRC leccie pump has....

I sell them for £ 66.41 inc vat and can happily sort you out a good deal on any hoses to fit it and the tanks etc......

This pump would be a remote fitting and would self prime - just fit a switch and use it as a transfer pump.....

Many thanks

david

Paul (Moose on here) did exactly this on his truck, it does work but the transfer couldnt really be described as rapid.

I use a pressure pump from vehicle wiring products to transfer fuel from a rear TD5 tank to the front on my 90. It's not quick, but it does transfer fuel a good deal quicker than the 300TDi uses it.

Incidentally, In the winter snow I had to use a Shurflo water pump to transfer heating oil in an emergency. It worked for a fair while, but I completely knackered the valve diapragm and had to by a replacement.

Regards

Richard
