leeds
Looking for a replacement rear cross member with the chassis extension rails on. What suppliers would the forum recommend? I can remember a thread where one of the welding gurus here had to unweld a new rear cross member and then weld it back up but I can not find that thread. So where would I get a good one from and how much should I be looking to pay for one. Regards Brendan
mike4444244
Hi Give Richard's a ring, it may cost a bit more but it will fit straight on and last longer than the original! Mike
Les Henson
I agree - Richards chassis have now started to supply rear crossmembers. I would highly recommend their stuff - it's good quality and as good, or possibly better than genuine (certainly cheaper) Other than that - Bearmach stuff is fairly good. If you want to learn Anglo Saxon/cutting and re-aligning welds/ how not to make a crossmember/ wasting money, then Britpart will help you out Les. Retroanaconda
I have a horrible feeling the rear crossmember on my 90 is a Britpart special....the jacking points don't fit my Hi-Lift, and the NATO hitch bolt holes don't have crush tubes Buy right, buy once
Les Henson
....the jacking points don't fit my Hi-Lift, and the NATO hitch bolt holes don't have crush tubes Is that all? things must be improving Les
Retroanaconda
Well I didn't fit it, so god knows what other 'issues' there may have been in that process
leeds
Can not see them on the Richard website so have emailed them. Any idea of how many beer vouchers this will cost me? Brendan
bobtail4x4
4X4 R us are doing rear X members, there work is usually good, and a competitive price.

Les Henson
I spoke to them at Billing and they said they were going to start supplying them. E-mail or ring. There's a big hole in the market for decent quality crossmembers, outriggers, etc. It's about time someone filled it. Les.
