renault4
I'v just started to rebiuld my front axle and come up to my first hurdle. The bolts that hold the swivel housing to the stub axle are different to a normal bolt, these are multisided, a 14 ml. ring spanner fits, and this undid about half of them but just turned on the others, before I ruin the rest of the bolts can anyone tell me what spanner I need to remove these bolts? LandyManLuke
They're bi-hex, I believe, so a ring spanner is the tool for the job. When i swapped my swivels, I ended up grinding the heads off the old bolts and replacing them with new. The heads were too far gone, and access is rubbish to begin with. western
IIRC a 12 point ring spanner 14mm fits, that's what I used last time I split the stubs from the main axle case.
Orange
I can't remember what size it is, but find the nearest IMPERIAL size to 14mm and use that. You might have to tap it on with a small hammer, but it will fit.
Bowie69
9/16 is the nearest equivalent, *BUT* very slightly larger... not aware of anything else close. I'd be getting Mr Sparky out if I were you.

LandyLee
I use the multi fit spanners , these fit 12 pt. torx etc and a long ratchet one makes the job alot easier.
