mudmuncher
Hi all I want to raise the final gearing on my 90 to give me a better top end speed eg motorway driving I don't want to break any records just a comfortable 70 mph say without her revving hard like she does at the moment I have 300tdi engine fitted with a R380 gearbox I have been told if I change the transfer box to a disco one this will give me a better crusing speed Is this true and the best way of do it ??? Many thanks chris

PaulN
In short - yes. I have yet to do just that with my Def90. which stll has its 4.10 and will swap for a 1.222 Disco at some point. Have a little look at these for starters: Suggest1 Suggest2 - Look Discovery1 This is a really good read
Litch
As alreadY stated, been covered many times before. I have had this set-up on my 300TDi 90 for over 5-years and there is NO situation in which I would want the old gearing back.
