Mack
Hi chaps I have a RD-03 10 spline and I need to convert it into a 24 spline (basically a RD-56). Anybody had the chance to do something similar? thanks M
jcwcooper
All the parts you need are listed in the online arb manual which is here http://www.arb.com.au/resources/pdf/airLockers/0-00.pdf HTH Dave.
Hybrid_From_Hell
No all 10 spline ARBs are convertable to 24, only the "Late" 10 spline units, not earlier ones So, fingers crossed ? Nige
bishbosh
Whilst you can buy the parts to do it from ARB you will find it is cheaper to sell on the 10 spline and buy a new 24 spline unit. Been there done that.
Mack
Thanks guys. The thing is that I got the 10 spline ARB by mistake and the seller (US) apparently did not bother at the end that I keep it. Have been trying to sell it here for a long time..... The expensive part is the whole set of 6 gears. ARB do not sell just the 2 of them I need I´ll ask aschroft just in case. cheers
Bush65
The parts list that ARB publish to upgrade the 10 spline locker (RD03), is to upgrade the diff to be the same as the 24 spline version (RD56). It is possible to simply replace the side gears, or have the splines re-cut in 10 spline side gears. This is a cheaper option, but doesn't have the stronger housing of the RD56. In Australia, people send their 10 spline side gears to Jack MacNamara for re-splining.
