Maverik
Can anyone tell me the difference between these 2 CV joint parts. AEU2522 and RTC6862. The parts catalogue says its down to certain axle numbers, ok. but does anyone know what the actual differnce was to change the part number? Cheers Mav
Les Henson
AEU2522 is 23-spline, non-ABS cv joint. EPC, LRseries, and Craddocks don't recognise RTC6862 as a Defender part. Les.
errol209
AEU2522 is 23-spline, non-ABS cv joint. EPC, LRseries, and Craddocks don't recognise RTC6862 as a Defender part. Les. Bearmach's parts browser claims RTC6862 is a Defender CV joint by GKN, and that it is an LR number still? Island 4x4 says: New cv joint which fits all Landrover Defender 90/110 models from axle number 22L27847 (around 1990 to 1994). This CV is Part number RTC6862 which has 33 splines on the halfshaft side. EDIT: RTC6862 is also for non-ABS, btw
Maverik
According to that then the difference is the number of splines on the half shaft side. My searches turned up the same as Les's, so cheers errol for solving my little mystery. Mav

western
IIRC AEU2522 is the stronger version.
