Leadbelly Posted September 3, 2010 Share Posted September 3, 2010 I have just been offered a disco CHEAP as such, It's a non-runner due to the battery being put-in and connected the wrong way so i am told. disco_al Posted September 3, 2010 Share Posted September 3, 2010 petrol or diesel? if it's a diesel then i would imagine it has probably toasted the alternator, and possibly a couple of the big fuses in the engine bay - if it's a petrol, then it could be ECU fried etc etc etc..... how old is the truck? Leadbelly Posted September 3, 2010 Author Share Posted September 3, 2010 I know it's a 1999 not sure at this point weather it's a petrol or diesel, A friend gave me a quick call as he was stood with the third party in question just waiting on a call to get his direct number. At this point I can throw him a few questions, I have to say I find it odd that someone should connect a battery the wrong way maybe it's a smoke screen? Leadbelly Posted September 5, 2010 Author Share Posted September 5, 2010 I called the guy and he is now unsure what he is going to do with it as he has been told it might be a 60amp fuse or the immobilizer, so i'm guessing he now is having second thoughts. dirtyninety Posted September 7, 2010 Share Posted September 7, 2010 To be quite honest I don't think it would do a great deal.. probably pop some fuses but no real damage! a 1999 and diesel so its TD5, dependant on condition and quite how cheap you get it you could make a profit on this.
