western
won't make much difference, those engines are old tech & not even worth the bother, just wait till it dies & fit a 200 or 300tdi.
reb78
Kinda agree with Ralph. If you fit one expecting wonderful performance by upping boost and fuelling, the 19J will hate you and die even quicker! Fit one and leave all else as is and you might actully make the engine last longer. If you want more performance fit a tdi.
WarPig
If you want more performance fit a tdi. I didnt know that the words 'performance' and 'tdi' could be used in the same sentance

Relative to the TD, the tdi is like ford mondeo is to a fiat panda perhaps....
Aragorn
An intercooler will reduce combustion temperatures reducing strain on the engine, so on those grounds alone its probably worthwhile. It will also likely result in slightly more complete combustion by making more oxygen available, so will likely actually improve power too. Albeit very slightly. sgnas
,nothing compares to the sound of a v8 apart from the sound of the digits turning over on the petrol station pump
